英国Sheffield大学，EAU秘书长FACULTY OF 1000: Christopher Chapple became Section Head for the Benign Bladder & Urethral Disorders Section on 11 June 2012, having previously served as a Faculty Member for Lower Urinary Tract: Dysfunction, Incontinence & Urodynamics. ACADEMIC POSITIONS: • Professor of Urology, Sheffield Hallam University • Consultant Urological Surgeon, The Royal Hallamshire Hospital BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION: Christopher Chapple is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a particular interest in Functional Reconstruction of the Lower Urinary Tract and the underlying Pharmacological Control Mechanisms. He is Past Director of the European School of Urology and an Adjunct Secretary General to the European Association of Urology. Christopher Chapple trained at the Middlesex Hospital where he subsequently completed his doctorate thesis on Pharmacological Control Mechanisms in the Lower Urinary Tract. His sub-specialist training was at the Middlesex Hospital and Institute of Urology in London. MEMBERSHIPS: He is an active member of many international urological associations and societies including the British Association of Urological Surgeons, the European Association of Urology, the International Continence Society, the Royal Society of Medicine, the British Medical Association and the Association of Academic European Urologists and the American Associations of Genitourinary Surgeons. He also reviews for the editorial board of several journals such as the British Journal of Urology, European Urology, Surgery, Current Opinion in Urology, Urology, Neurourology and Urodynamics and International Journal of Urogynaecology. RESEARCH INTERESTS: Aspects of functional and reconstructive urology. His basic science research relates to pharmacology of the lower urinary tract. He is currently helping to direct a programme of tissue engineering to facilitate production of tissue for urethroplasty. He has an ongoing interest in the further refinement and development of techniques for the eva luation of lower urinary tract dysfunction and is actively involved in the eva luation of new therapies on the treatment of lower urinary tract dysfunction.
